Worship & Music Ministries

One Heart … One Mind … One Voice
“After they prayed … the believers were one in heart and mind.” - Acts 4:31-32
“The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice to give praise and thanks to the Lord.” - 2 Chronicles 5:13
The music at Grace on a typical Sunday morning is contemporary/blended. We sing contemporary music, along with great traditional hymns. The styles of music are varied. We believe that worship is primarily a spiritual activity, not physical, meaning that questions of worship style, musical content and ability are non-issues compared to the heart. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24) “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7) God views our worship as either acceptable or unacceptable based on our spiritual condition before Him.
We strive to communicate the mindset, or “heartset,” that worship is not a Sunday morning activity. Worship is 24 hours a day … 7 days a week. Our worship of God, seeking Him in His Word and in prayer should be a daily thing.
We strive for unity in the Body of Christ, always seeking to build up and never to destroy. We desire to have people involved who not only are skilled in their specific area, but also to be true worshippers. God values the heart of a person above his or her talent. We seek to glorify God in all that we do, with a humble servant’s heart, rejecting a search for prestige or notoriety as a musician. Psalm 115:1 … “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Your name be the glory because of Your love and faithfulness.”
